How do I calculate hours between two times?
Open the Duration tab, enter the start and end times, add break minutes if needed, and click Calculate result to see the total in hours and minutes, decimal hours, minutes, and seconds.
What if the end time is earlier than the start time?
The calculator automatically treats the end time as the next day, so overnight shifts like 22:00 to 06:00 still produce the correct result.
What are decimal hours and when do I need them?
Decimal hours express minutes as a fraction of an hour, such as 4 hours 15 minutes = 4.25 hours. This format is common in payroll, timesheets, hourly billing, and time-tracking software.
Does break time get subtracted automatically?
Yes. Enter break minutes in the Duration or Work hours tabs and the calculator removes that time from the net result.
