Free online alarm clock

What is an online alarm clock?

An online alarm clock runs in your browser and rings at times you set — useful for desk wake-ups, meeting reminders, medication, workouts, or study blocks. This free tool keeps a live clock on screen with a next-up countdown, smart presets beside the time wheels, Instant Looks, weekday or one-time schedules, sounds, gentle wake, snooze, Display and Sleep modes, quiet hours, and tap / math / hold dismiss — no app install.

  1. 01

    Set the time

Use a smart preset (wake, focus, medicine…) or a quick “in X min” chip next to the time wheels, or scroll hours and minutes. Common clock times sit under More options. Choose Once or Repeat, pick a sound and dismiss mode (tap, math, or hold), set volume, then tap Try alarm to preview the full-stage ring overlay.

  2. 02

    Add and manage alarms

Save to your list — grouped as Today, Later, and Off. Edit anytime, filter by room, and follow the live next-up countdown on the stage. Hover the stage for Instant Looks, or open Alarm settings for Digital / Minimal / Sport skins. Use Display or Sleep for a calm full-stage clock; appearance and embed stay collapsed until you need them.

  3. 03

    Hear the alert

When it rings, a full-stage overlay takes over with a large Stop control and snooze pills (1/5/10/15), or math / hold if you chose those. Optional notifications fire; quiet hours can ring visually without sound. Sunrise brightens the stage in the last minute, a 1-minute pre-ring banner can count down on stage, and Ambient wait can play soft sound in Display or Sleep.

Built for daily reminders in the browser

Unlike a countdown timer that runs for a fixed duration, an alarm waits until a clock time you choose. Add several alarms, label them, assign rooms (Work / Home / Gym), pick sounds and dismiss mode, then leave the tab open with Keep screen awake. The stage shows a live next-up countdown — tap it or the clock face to jump to that alarm. Share a look or an alarm link, try the full-stage ring before you save, and watch a mini timeline when you have several alarms today. Your list stays on this device — private by default. While ringing, the tab title and favicon flash so you notice even in another tab.

What you get

  • Multiple daily alarms Save as many clock times as you need — each with title, once/repeat days, sound, color, room, and dismiss mode — listed as Today, Later, or Off.
  • Smart & quick presets One-tap activity presets (wake, focus, meeting…) and “in X minutes” chips sit next to the time wheels. Extra clock-time chips live under More options.
  • Instant Looks Hover the stage to switch Ember, Ocean, Aurora, and more in one tap — matching atmosphere, Add button, and time wheels. Copy a look link to share the vibe.
  • Sounds & try ring Preview a gallery of tones, set volume and ring length, then use Try alarm to hear the real overlay before you rely on it.
  • Smarter dismiss Tap to stop, solve a quick math challenge, or hold to dismiss — optional per alarm so critical wake-ups stick.
  • Rooms & filters Tag alarms as Work, Home, or Gym, then filter the list so only the room you need stays in focus.
  • Quiet hours & sunrise During quiet hours, alarms can alert visually without sound. Sunrise soft-brightens the stage in the minute before a ring.
  • Live clock & display Live next-up countdown on the stage, a mini timeline when you have several alarms today, fullscreen Display, Sleep mode, dual digital+analog face, and optional ambient wait.
  • Embed widget Drop a compact live clock on your site with custom colors, size, skin, and digital or analog face.

Frequently asked questions

Next-up countdown, looks, quiet hours, rooms, snooze, dismiss, and wake lock — quick answers.

Is this online alarm free?
Yes. The alarm clock is free to use in your browser — no install and no account required.
Do I need to keep the tab open?
Yes. Browser alarms run while this page is open. Enable Keep screen awake to reduce sleep risk, and allow notifications as a backup alert. Your phone’s built-in alarm is still best for critical wake-ups.
Will my alarms survive a refresh?
Yes. Your alarm list and preferences are saved on this device. After a refresh, enabled alarms are ready for the next matching clock time.
Can I choose which days an alarm rings?
Yes. Use Once for a single fire, or Repeat with every day, Mon–Fri, weekend, or a custom mix. The countdown jumps to the next matching day.
Can I set more than one alarm?
Yes. Add as many as you need. Each alarm has its own time, title, days, sound, room, dismiss mode, and on/off toggle. The list groups them into Today, Later, and Off.
Do I get a desktop notification?
When you add an alarm, the browser may ask for notification permission. If allowed, you can get a desktop alert when an alarm fires — even if you are in another tab (the alarm page still needs to stay open). The tab title and favicon also flash while ringing.
What if two alarms have the same time?
The tool blocks duplicates for the same hour and minute so your list stays clear. Change the time slightly or edit the existing alarm instead.
How does snooze work?
When an alarm is ringing, choose 1, 5, 10, or 15 minutes. The sound stops and that alarm rings again after the snooze — other alarms stay on schedule. Your last snooze length is remembered.
What are gentle wake and dismiss modes?
Gentle wake ramps volume up over about 45 seconds. Dismiss can be a normal tap, a math challenge, or hold-to-stop — set per alarm so critical wake-ups are harder to dismiss half-asleep. Space and Esc do not bypass hold; use the Hold control instead.
What are Instant Looks, Display, and skins?
Instant Looks (Ember, Forest, Ocean, and more) appear when you hover the stage and set atmosphere in one tap. You can also use Digital, Minimal, or Sport skins, Digital or Analog face (or dual face in Display), then open Display or fullscreen for a large live clock. Setup hides in Display; the full-stage ringing overlay still appears when an alarm fires.
How do “in X minutes” chips and smart presets work?
Quick chips next to the wheels set a one-time enabled alarm a few minutes from now. Smart presets (wake, focus, medicine, meeting, workout) apply a ready-made time, sound, and dismiss style. Extra clock-time chips are under More options — then you can edit before saving.
Can I embed the alarm clock on my site?
Yes. Use the embed builder to copy an iframe for a live desk clock with your colors, skin, and digital or analog face. The embed shows the clock only — set and manage ringing alarms on the full alarm page.
Can I share a look or an alarm link?
Yes. Copy look link shares the Instant Look / atmosphere hash. Copy alarm link shares the time, sound, and options so someone can add the same alarm on this page.
What are quiet hours, rooms, and sunrise?
Quiet hours ring visually without sound in the window you set. Rooms tag alarms as Work, Home, or Gym and let you filter the list. Sunrise gently brightens the stage in the last minute before an alarm. Optional 1-minute pre-ring shows a countdown banner on the stage; Ambient wait can play soft sound in Display or Sleep.
What is Next up / the big countdown?
After you enable an alarm, the stage shows a live countdown to the next ring, with the time and label underneath. The current clock stays smaller. Tap the countdown or the clock face to jump to that alarm in your list. A mini timeline of dots appears when at least two enabled alarms remain today.
What is the 1-minute pre-ring toast?
Optional. Turn it on in Alarm settings. In the last minute before a ring, a banner on the stage counts down so you can wrap up — it hides when the alarm starts. Your phone’s built-in alarm is still best for critical wake-ups.
