    Boiled-egg countdown

    Ten minutes for boiled eggs

    This egg timer opens at 10:00 — a common hard-boiled target from a rolling boil. Press Start when the water boils, then cool the eggs under cold water when the alarm sounds.

    Egg doneness depends on size, starting temperature, and altitude. Use 10:00 as a hard-boiled baseline; for a soft center, open the soft-boiled egg timer (6:00) or shorten this dial. Keep the laptop or tablet away from steam.

      Start the egg timer at 10:00

      Bring water to a boil, lower the eggs, then press Start. Shock in ice water when time is up. Change the dial if your preferred yolk is softer or firmer.

      Start the countdown

      Press Start or Space. Progress updates on a circular dial, and the face shows when the timer ends. Pause anytime, add +1 min, queue another timer, or go fullscreen / sleep for a distraction-free display. The tab title shows remaining time while you work elsewhere.

      When time is up, stop the alarm with one tap. Start the next queued timer, review local history, export CSV, or copy a shareable link. A refresh restores an in-progress countdown on this device.

    Is 10 minutes right for every egg?
    No. Large cold eggs from the fridge often need close to 10 minutes for a firm yolk; soft-boiled is nearer 6. Treat this as a starting point and adjust once.
    Where is the soft-boiled egg timer?
    Open the soft-boiled egg timer page for a 6:00 default, or set this dial to 6:00 yourself.
    Can I hear the egg alarm from another room?
    Only if the device stays awake with sound on. Keep the tab open; phone alarms in another room are not mirrored here.
    Is this different from a pasta timer?
